While there are no formally organized rides, we encourage everyone to bring their bikes and enjoy some of the best cycling roads anywhere with old and new friends.
Pavement, Gravel, or Mixed Surface. Climbing or Rolling Terrain.
A few of the popular cycling destinations & routes within easy reach of the venue:
Jamestown: A gentle (and scenic) canyon climb up to the former mining town with a great descent back down.
Olde Stage Road/Lee Hill Drive: If you want steep climbs and fast descents, these challenging roads will test your mettle.
Niwot: Local small town with great coffee and cycling culture.
Hygiene: This cyclist-friendly small community just west of Longmont is a popular stopping off point for many routes heading north.
Lyons: Another small Front Range town that is on many popular local rides.
Boulder Gravel Triangle Sectors: Multiple sections of well maintained dirt roads between Boulder Reservoir, Hygiene, and Lyons. These gravel sectors have been used in local races for years.
A few Strava routes for rides leaving from the Boulder Elks Lodge:
Mellow Route with not too much climbing out to Niwot and back: Mellow Route
Mostly Dirt/Gravel Route on improved local roads out past the Boulder Reservoir and along some of the Roubaix course: Dirt Route
Climbing Route up to Jamestown over Olde Stage Road both directions (100% paved): Climbing Route
We recommend leaving from the Elks Club by about 9-9:30am so you can be back at the event by noon (when the concourse judging begins).
